Andy Milluzzi, KK4LWR, was first licensed in 2012. He holds an Amateur Extra class license and is active on the air most days.
Until recently, Andy operated almost exclusively portable. Working satellites or Field Day were his main activities. In 2022, Andy purchased a house and setup this new QTH, nicknamed Pinnacle. Pinnacle is home to an Icom 7300 radio, Ameritron AL-811H amp, MFJ-986 tuner, a fan dipole for 40, 20, 15, & 10, and a 6 meter loop antenna.
Even with the new shack and antennas, Andy still gets on satellites from time to time. His satellite rig is two Yaesu 818 radios and an arrow antenna. He also still operates potable. While on the road, Andy runs a Yaesu 857D and a wire antenna. He also uses a variety of hamsticks mounted to his car on road trips. When he visits his parents in Ohio, Andy operates a KK4LWR/8 and uses a fan vertical he and his brother, Tony, KD8RTT, setup. The nickname for his parents QTH is Regency.
Andy recently married his wife, Kristi, and they live in Clermont, Florida with their dachshund, Daisy. Andy holds multiple degrees including a Bachelors of Science in Computer Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, a Bachelors of Science in Software Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, a Masters of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Florida, and a Doctorate in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Florida. Andy is currently a Senior Ride Control Systems Engineer for Walt Disney Imagineering.
